On 4 April 2017, the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai together with Study in Sweden participated in Chinese International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET) in Jiangsu province.
It was the first time that Sweden had a national booth to strengthen its presence in this market and to support Swedish universities. Linnaeus University was exhibiting too.
The Swedish organisers provided general information on the opportunities open to international students, admission procedures and other practical details. Students had the possibilities to meet with Swedish alumni during the seminar.
Over 2000 students visited the exhibition.
Furthermore, on 5 April the Swedish alumni network in Jiangsu was inaugurated. Consul General delivered her speech for the inauguration and Deputy Consul General introduced the cooperation between Sweden and Jiangsu. As the official partner, Jiangsu Provincial Human Resource and Social Security Department provided the support for the liaison of the alumni, and their Deputy Director also gave a speech. Over 50 alumni from government, universities, companies and other public sectors attended the event. Some of them came from other cities in Jiangsu for the event.
The web site study.sweden.cn is the one-stop information centre for higher education studies in Sweden. The WeChat account Studyinsweden is also a platform to communicate. The purpose is to provide international students wishing to study in Sweden with a convenient and comprehensive information resource.
Chinese International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET), approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, has been one of the largest exhibitions in the field of international education in China, which sets up a platform for Chinese students and parents providing the latest, most authoritative and direct information about studying abroad and develops channels for universities and institutions to introduce their quality education resources and opportunities.
Since its first series started in 1999, there were around 2,000 universities and institutions from more than 50 countries and regions joined the exhibition and showcased their educational opportunities to over 1 million Chinese students and parents.
